Songs Wanted
Duck River Music is looking for commercial songs — that is hit songs — songs that appeal to many people. A good commercial song should contain many of the following elements:
- Would a listener spend money for a copy of the song after he/she hears it on the radio, iTunes or Youtube?
- Does the melody appeal to the listener and is it easily remembered?
- Is it a melody which you can find yourself humming, or one of those you cannot recall?
- Does the title have meaning?
- Does it at once call to mind an image, which is meaningful to the listener?
- Do the lyrics paint a picture or tell a story, which the listener can envision and/or to which the listener can relate?
- Do the lyrics hold the listener’s interest and make him/her want to hear more?
The more of these elements that characterize your song, the greater is the chance that your song will have listeners and be a hit.
Songs should present a positive message; the message should build up the listener.
DRM does not accept songs that equate love with/to sex. Nor do we accept songs with hate lyrics.
